Philip Edwin DOUGLAS, 54, veteran state highway employee, died at his home June 29, 1963 40 minutes after being brought from Culver Hospital where he had been a patient six weeks. He suffered a heart attack. He worked for the highway more than 20 years and was in charge of the sub-district garage. Mr. Douglas was a son of Edwin H. and Mary Fink Douglas and was born Aug 16, 1908. Attended New Market HS and member of New Market Christian Church; Knights of Pythias and Democratic precinct committeeman. He was married to Olvie A. Wilson at Rockville; she survives with three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Clifton; Miss Dora Douglas and Mrs. Sherman Smith; two nephews and a niece. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Noble Reeves Funeral Home. -- kbz
